Coriandrum sativum là cây thảo một năm. Hạt và lá đều được dùng nhưng có hương vị khác hẳn nhau, hạt ấm, citrus-spice; lá tươi, herbal-fresh.
Tinh dầu cất hơi từ hạt khô. Sản xuất chủ yếu tại Pháp, Ấn Độ và Hà Lan. Tinh dầu Pháp thường được ưa chuộng trong perfumery.
Họ Apiaceae. Cùng họ với caraway, cumin, anise, dill.
Coriandrum sativum is an annual herb. Both seeds and leaves are used but carry markedly different flavors, seeds warm, citrus-spice; leaves fresh, herbal-green.
The oil is steam-distilled from dried seeds. Produced mainly in France, India and the Netherlands. The French oil is generally preferred in perfumery.
Family Apiaceae. Same family as caraway, cumin, anise, dill.
