Có GRAS status. Không kích ứng hay nhạy ứng ở liều thử nghiệm. Không phototoxic.
Nghiên cứu trên chuột cho thấy carrot seed oil ngăn cản làm tổ phôi và chặn tổng hợp progesterone ở liều 2.5 đến 5 mL trên kg dạng tiêm dưới da. Carrot dại có danh tiếng truyền thống là biện pháp tránh thai.
Lượng tinh dầu dùng trong nghiên cứu Chinese rất cao. NOAEL cho độc tính sinh sản chưa được xác lập rõ.

GRAS status. No skin irritation or sensitization at tested levels. Non-phototoxic.
Rat studies show carrot seed oil prevents embryo implantation and blocks progesterone synthesis at 2.5 to 5 mL per kg subcutaneous. Wild carrot has a traditional reputation as a contraceptive.
The amounts used in Chinese research were very high. A NOAEL for reproductive toxicity has not been firmly established.

Daucus carota subsp. sativus là cà rốt nhà, biến thể đã thuần hóa của carrot dại. Tinh dầu cất hơi từ hạt, không phải củ.
Họ Apiaceae. IFRA ghi nhận carrot seed oil có thể chứa đến 0.5 phần trăm methyleugenol, nhưng dầu thương mại thường không chứa lượng đáng kể.
Daucus carota subsp. sativus is the domestic carrot, the cultivated form of wild carrot. The oil is steam-distilled from the seeds, not the root.
Family Apiaceae. IFRA notes carrot seed oil may contain up to 0.5 percent methyleugenol, but commercial oil typically does not contain meaningful amounts.
