Florientaux is subfamily F5 of the Amber family in the SFP table. The name joins floral and oriental and covers scents in which the floral layer is as large as the amber base. It is the only branch of family F whose name does not begin with the word Ambré.
Unlike F2, F4 and F6, the name of F5 adds no secondary facet such as spice, wood or fruit. The flowers are usually orange flower, jasmine, ylang ylang, tuberose and orris; the base is vanilla, tonka, benzoin and musks, often with a powdery note.

In 1912 Jacques Guerlain composed L'Heure Bleue, thirteen years before Shalimar. It is usually described as flowers set on a sweet, powdery base, with almond and baked pastry facets. The powdery almond part of such structures is usually linked to heliotropin (piperonal), coumarin and orris.
In 1984 Chanel released Coco, composed by Jacques Polge. Descriptions list mandarin at the top; jasmine, ylang ylang and orange flower in the heart; patchouli, tonka and benzoin in the base. The structure shows the common pattern of F5: a bouquet set directly on a sweet resinous base, without a large woody or spicy layer.
Jasmine oil and extracts, ylang ylang oil, bitter orange flower oil (neroli), rose oil and vanillin are named on the expanded list of Regulation (EU) 2023/1545. Benzyl salicylate, benzyl benzoate and coumarin, common in sweet floral bases, were already among the 26 labelled substances.
The SFP website publishes only subfamily names; perfume lists per subfamily are in the printed Classification officielle des parfums. Perfumes named here are commonly cited examples, not official SFP placements.
F5 giáp họ B Hoa. Khi phần vanilla và nhựa thơm mờ đi, cùng tầng hoa đó sẽ được xếp vào họ Hoa; khi nền ngọt lớn lên, mùi hương nghiêng về F1. Tên Florientaux vẫn nằm trên trang SFP, dù Fragrances of the World đã đổi chữ Oriental sang Amber trong tiếng Anh từ năm 2021.
F5 borders family B Floral. When the vanilla and balsams fade, the same floral layer is placed in the Floral family; when the sweet base grows, the scent tilts towards F1. The name Florientaux remains on the SFP page, although Fragrances of the World changed Oriental to Amber in English in 2021.

F5 có thể dựng gần trọn bằng nguyên liệu tự nhiên: absolute hoa cam, hoa nhài, ngọc lan tây, absolute huệ và iris ở giữa; vanilla, đậu tonka, benzoin, balsam Tolu, ambrette ở đáy; bergamot FCF hoặc quýt ở đầu.
Nốt phấn hạnh nhân của heliotropin không có tinh dầu tương đương trực tiếp; đậu tonka, iris và benzoin có thể gợi một phần. Các absolute hoa chứa nhiều chất có tên trong danh sách dị ứng EU, cần kiểm tra theo danh sách mới. Trang này không đưa tỷ lệ công thức.
F5 can be built almost entirely from natural materials: orange flower absolute, jasmine, ylang ylang, tuberose absolute and orris in the heart; vanilla, tonka, benzoin, Tolu balsam and ambrette in the base; FCF bergamot or mandarin at the top.
The powdery almond note of heliotropin has no direct essential oil equivalent; tonka, orris and benzoin can suggest part of it. Floral absolutes contain many substances named on the EU allergen list and must be checked against the new list. This page gives no formula percentages.
