Store in dark, sealed, refrigerated container. Add an antioxidant to formulations.
Cistus oil contains small amounts of isopinocamphone and α-thujone (both GABAA inhibitors), but also high α-pinene which potentiates GABAA. No restrictions are therefore needed regarding neurotoxicity.

Cistus ladanifer là cây bụi vùng Địa Trung Hải, đặc biệt Tây Ban Nha và Bồ Đào Nha. Lá tiết một loại nhựa thơm tự nhiên khi nóng.
Tinh dầu cistus cất hơi trực tiếp từ cây có hoa. Khác với labdanum oil cũng từ Cistus ladanifer, labdanum được sản xuất từ nhựa, có chemistry và mùi khác hẳn.

Cistus ladanifer is a Mediterranean shrub, particularly common in Spain and Portugal. The leaves exude a natural aromatic resin when heated.
Cistus oil is steam-distilled directly from the flowering plant. Distinct from labdanum oil, also from Cistus ladanifer, labdanum is produced from the gum, with different chemistry and aroma.
