Cánh hồng tươi, mật ong, sáp ong, hơi xanh của đài hoa. Tròn và ấm hơn tinh dầu hồng; nốt sáp và nốt hoa kéo dài, độ khuếch tán thấp hơn absolute.
Fresh rose petals, honey, beeswax, a green calyx edge. Rounder and warmer than rose oil; waxy and floral notes last long, with less diffusion than the absolute.
Hoa hồng không có tiêu chuẩn riêng trong danh mục IFRA 51. Methyl eugenol, có mặt tự nhiên trong hoa hồng, chịu tiêu chuẩn hạn chế IFRA (2023) và giới hạn theo Phụ lục III tại EU. Citronellol, geraniol và eugenol là chất gây dị ứng phải ghi nhãn tại EU trên ngưỡng.
Quy định EU 2023/1545 đưa tinh dầu và chiết xuất hoa hồng (Rose flower oil/extract) vào danh sách chất gây dị ứng phải ghi nhãn khi vượt 0.001 phần trăm trong sản phẩm lưu trên da hoặc 0.01 phần trăm trong sản phẩm rửa trôi.
Concrete ở dạng sáp rắn, cần làm ấm nhẹ khi dùng. Bảo quản kín, tối, mát.
Rose has no dedicated standard in the IFRA 51 index. Methyl eugenol, naturally present in rose, is under an IFRA restriction standard (2023) and Annex III limits in the EU. Citronellol, geraniol and eugenol are EU-labelled allergens above threshold.
EU Regulation 2023/1545 adds rose flower oil and extract to the allergens that must be labelled above 0.001 percent in leave-on or 0.01 percent in rinse-off products.
Concrete is a solid wax and needs gentle warming. Store sealed, dark and cool.

Concrete là sản phẩm đầu tiên khi chiết hoa bằng dung môi không phân cực như hexane. Dung môi hòa tan tinh dầu, sáp và sắc tố của cánh hoa. Sau khi thu hồi dung môi, phần còn lại là một khối sáp rắn hoặc bán rắn. Rửa concrete bằng cồn, làm lạnh và lọc bỏ sáp sẽ cho absolute.
Hai loài hồng chính cho concrete là Rosa damascena, trồng ở thung lũng hoa hồng Kazanlak tại Bulgaria và vùng Isparta tại Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ, và Rosa centifolia, trồng ở Maroc và vùng Grasse tại Pháp. Mùa hái ngắn, rơi vào khoảng tháng 5 đến tháng 6. Hoa được hái bằng tay vào sáng sớm, khi hàm lượng chất thơm cao, và phải chế biến trong ngày.
Hoa hồng Damask cũng được chưng cất để lấy tinh dầu (otto). Chưng cất làm mất phần lớn 2-phenylethanol vào nước chưng. Chiết dung môi giữ được chất này, nên concrete và absolute có mùi cánh hoa tươi và mật ong, khác với otto.
Phần lớn concrete được chuyển thành absolute ngay tại nơi sản xuất. Một phần được bán nguyên dạng cho nước hoa sáp, balm và xà phòng, nơi sáp tự nhiên không gây trở ngại.
Trong perfumery, concrete hồng ít dùng trong nước hoa cồn vì khó tan. Nó được đánh giá như nguồn của absolute và như nguyên liệu cho các dạng sản phẩm có nền dầu và sáp.
A concrete is the first product of extracting flowers with a non-polar solvent such as hexane. The solvent dissolves the essential oil, waxes and pigments of the petals. After solvent recovery a solid or semi-solid waxy mass remains. Washing the concrete with alcohol, chilling and filtering out the waxes gives the absolute.
Two rose species supply most concrete: Rosa damascena, grown in the Kazanlak rose valley in Bulgaria and the Isparta region in Turkey, and Rosa centifolia, grown in Morocco and around Grasse in France. The picking season is short, around May to June. Flowers are picked by hand in early morning, when aromatic content is high, and must be processed the same day.
Damask rose is also distilled for oil (otto). Distillation loses most of the 2-phenylethanol to the distillation water. Solvent extraction keeps it, so concrete and absolute smell of fresh petals and honey, unlike otto.
Most concrete is turned into absolute at the production site. Some is sold as is for solid perfumes, balms and soap, where the natural waxes are not a problem.
In perfumery rose concrete is rarely used in alcohol-based perfume because it dissolves poorly. It is valued as the source of the absolute and as a material for oil and wax based products.
