Hoa sứ absolute (frangipani)

Hoa trắng kem, đào chín, dừa, hơi gia vị. Ngọt, dày, có nét hoa cam và hoa nhài nhưng tròn hơn, ít indole. Đáy ấm, hơi balsamic.
Creamy white flower, ripe peach, coconut, a touch of spice. Sweet and dense, near orange flower and jasmine but rounder and less indolic. Warm, slightly balsamic drydown.
Hoa sứ absolute không có tiêu chuẩn riêng trong danh mục IFRA 51. Benzyl salicylate và benzyl benzoate, hai thành tố được ghi nhận trong hoa sứ, chịu hạn chế IFRA (2020) theo nhóm sản phẩm.
Tại EU, linalool, geraniol, citronellol, benzyl benzoate và benzyl salicylate là chất phải ghi nhãn dị ứng khi vượt 0.001 phần trăm trong sản phẩm lưu trên da hoặc 0.01 phần trăm trong sản phẩm rửa trôi.

Frangipani absolute has no dedicated standard in the IFRA 51 index. Benzyl salicylate and benzyl benzoate, both reported in frangipani, are IFRA-restricted (2020) per product category.
In the EU, linalool, geraniol, citronellol, benzyl benzoate and benzyl salicylate must be labelled as allergens above 0.001 percent in leave-on or 0.01 percent in rinse-off products.

Plumeria là cây gỗ nhỏ bản địa Trung Mỹ và Caribe, được trồng rộng khắp vùng nhiệt đới. Ở Việt Nam cây được gọi là hoa sứ hoặc hoa đại, trồng nhiều ở chùa, đình và công viên. Hoa có năm cánh xoắn, màu trắng, vàng, hồng hoặc đỏ.
Tên frangipani được cho là bắt nguồn từ họ Frangipani ở Ý, gắn với một loại hương dùng cho găng tay da thế kỷ 16. Tên chi Plumeria đặt theo nhà thực vật học Pháp Charles Plumier.
Absolute được làm qua hai bước. Nguyên liệu được chiết bằng dung môi không phân cực như hexane, cho ra concrete chứa sáp. Concrete sau đó được rửa bằng ethanol, làm lạnh để kết tủa sáp, lọc và cất loại cồn. Phần còn lại là absolute.
Nghiên cứu về hoa sứ ghi nhận benzyl salicylate, benzyl benzoate, linalool, geraniol, nerolidol và phenylethyl alcohol. Tỉ lệ thay đổi theo loài và màu hoa: hoa trắng vàng thường thơm hơn hoa đỏ.
Hoa sứ absolute được sản xuất với lượng nhỏ, chủ yếu ở Ấn Độ. Hoa được hái buổi sáng khi mùi mạnh. Nhiều sản phẩm gọi là frangipani là phối hương tổng hợp dựa trên benzyl salicylate và các lactone.
Trong perfumery, hoa sứ absolute dùng cho nốt hoa trắng nhiệt đới, thường phối với dừa, vanilla, hoa nhài và hoa huệ. Nó cho độ kem và độ tròn khác với độ sắc của hoa nhài.
Plumeria is a small tree native to Central America and the Caribbean, planted throughout the tropics. In Vietnam it is called hoa sứ or hoa đại and is often planted at pagodas, communal houses and parks. The five twisted petals are white, yellow, pink or red.
The name frangipani is thought to come from the Italian Frangipani family, linked to a 16th-century perfume for leather gloves. The genus Plumeria is named after the French botanist Charles Plumier.
An absolute is made in two steps. The raw material is extracted with a non-polar solvent such as hexane to give a waxy concrete. The concrete is then washed with ethanol, chilled to precipitate waxes, filtered and freed of alcohol. What remains is the absolute.
Studies on frangipani report benzyl salicylate, benzyl benzoate, linalool, geraniol, nerolidol and phenylethyl alcohol. Ratios vary with species and colour: white and yellow flowers are usually more fragrant than red ones.
Frangipani absolute is made in small volumes, mainly in India. Flowers are picked in the morning when scent is strongest. Many products sold as frangipani are synthetic accords based on benzyl salicylate and lactones.
In perfumery frangipani absolute serves tropical white florals, often with coconut, vanilla, jasmine and tuberose. It brings creaminess and roundness, unlike the sharper edge of jasmine.
