Anethum sowa là loài dill khác biệt phân bố ở Nam Á, đặc biệt Ấn Độ và Pakistan. Tên Hindi 'sowa' và Sanskrit 'satapashpi' phản ánh dùng truyền thống làm gia vị và thuốc.

Tinh dầu cất hơi từ hạt. Khác hẳn European dill (Anethum graveolens) về chemistry vì chứa dill apiole, một hợp chất phenylpropene tương tự parsley apiole.

Họ Apiaceae.

Anethum sowa is a distinct dill species of South Asia, particularly India and Pakistan. The Hindi name 'sowa' and Sanskrit 'satapashpi' reflect traditional use as both spice and medicine.

The oil is steam-distilled from the seeds. Differs markedly from European dill (Anethum graveolens) in chemistry because of its dill apiole content, a phenylpropene similar to parsley apiole.

Family Apiaceae.
