β-Eudesmol là một sesquiterpene alcohol xuất hiện đáng kể trong atractylis, araucaria, cypress xanh và hinoki. Hợp chất có hoạt tính sinh học rõ rệt nhưng dữ liệu da không đầy đủ.
Đường uống. LD50 cấp tính qua đường uống trên chuột nhắt vượt 2 g/kg.
Mạch máu. β-Eudesmol có hoạt tính chống tiểu cầu in vitro đáng kể. Ức chế tạo mạch máu mới ở mô hạt chuột nhắt ở 0.90 mol/kg tiêm phúc mạc. Tính chống tạo mạch khuyến cáo thận trọng trong thai kỳ.
Gan. Có tác dụng bảo vệ gan đáng kể chống độc tính carbon tetrachloride trên tế bào gan chuột.
Ung thư. Ức chế in vitro tăng trưởng tế bào ung thư gan người. Liều 2.5 – 5.0 mg/kg ức chế tăng trưởng hepatoma và sarcoma trên chuột nhắt.
β-Eudesmol is a sesquiterpene alcohol occurring substantially in atractylis, araucaria, blue cypress and hinoki. The compound has pronounced bioactivity but dermal data are limited.
Oral. Acute oral LD50 in mice exceeds 2 g/kg.
Cardiovascular. β-Eudesmol displays considerable in vitro antiplatelet activity. It inhibits angiogenesis in granuloma tissue in mice at 0.90 mol/kg ip. The antiangiogenic activity suggests caution in pregnancy.
Liver. Significant hepatoprotective effects against carbon tetrachloride-induced cytotoxicity in rat hepatocytes.
Cancer. Inhibits in vitro growth of human liver cancer cells. Doses of 2.5 to 5.0 mg/kg suppress hepatoma and sarcoma growth in mice.
