Santolina chamaecyparissus là cây bụi nhỏ, lá xám-bạc, hoa vàng. Không liên quan thực vật với lavender, tên gọi do hình dáng và mùi gợi nhớ.
Mọc vùng Địa Trung Hải Tây. Trồng làm cảnh trong vườn châu Âu.
Họ Asteraceae (Compositae), cùng họ với daisy và artemisia.
Santolina chamaecyparissus is a small shrub with grey-silver leaves and yellow flowers. Not botanically related to lavender, the name reflects its appearance and reminiscent scent.
Grows in the western Mediterranean. Cultivated as an ornamental in European gardens.
Family Asteraceae (Compositae), same family as daisy and artemisia.
Sản xuất tinh dầu nhỏ, niche. Truyền thống dùng đuổi côn trùng trong tủ áo (giống lavender thật).
Khác hẳn về thực vật và chemistry với mọi loài Lavandula.
Oil production is small and niche. Traditionally used as a clothing-moth deterrent (like true lavender).
Botanically and chemically distinct from all Lavandula species.
