Helichrysum italicum là cây bụi nhỏ vùng Địa Trung Hải, đặc biệt Corsica, Sardinia, Croatia. Hoa nhỏ vàng tươi không héo dù phơi khô, tên 'immortelle' (bất tử) và 'everlasting' phản ánh đặc tính này.
Mùi đặc trưng gợi nhớ cà ri (hương 'curry plant') do italidione, beta-diketone hiếm có trong thực vật.
Họ Asteraceae. Hai phân loài chính: subsp. italicum và subsp. microphyllum, thường thu hoạch và xử lý chung.

Helichrysum italicum is a small Mediterranean shrub, particularly common in Corsica, Sardinia, Croatia. The small bright yellow flowers do not wilt even when dried, the names 'immortelle' (immortal) and 'everlasting' reflect this character.
The distinctive aroma evokes curry (hence 'curry plant') due to italidione, a beta-diketone rare in plants.
