Neryl propionate is an aliphatic monoterpenoid ester occurring in helichrysum.

Skin. Undiluted neryl propionate produced mild irritation on rabbit skin under 24-hour occlusion. Tested at 6 percent on human skin, it caused no irritation and no sensitization.

Acute toxicity. Acute oral LD50 in rats exceeded 5 g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 in rabbits exceeded 5 g/kg.
