Vỏ chanh, thì là, tiêu nhẹ, nhựa tươi. Resinoid giữ nét chanh ở đầu và có đáy nhựa ấm, hơi ngọt, bền hơn tinh dầu.
Lemon peel, dill, a light pepper, fresh resin. The resinoid keeps a lemony top over a warm, slightly sweet resin base that outlasts the oil.
Elemi không có tiêu chuẩn riêng trong danh mục IFRA 51. Limonene là thành tố chính; limonene chịu tiêu chuẩn đặc tính kỹ thuật IFRA về chỉ số peroxide và là chất phải ghi nhãn dị ứng tại EU trên ngưỡng.
Elemicin có mặt ở lượng nhỏ. Bảo quản chai tối, kín, mát để hạn chế oxi hóa terpen.
Elemi has no dedicated standard in the IFRA 51 index. Limonene is a main constituent; limonene is under an IFRA specification on peroxide value and is a labelled allergen in the EU above threshold.
Elemicin is present in small amounts. Store dark, sealed and cool to limit terpene oxidation.

Philippines
Canarium luzonicum là cây gỗ lớn bản địa Philippines. Người thu rạch thân, nhựa dầu mềm màu trắng ngà chảy ra và đặc lại dần. Philippines gần như là nguồn duy nhất của elemi thương mại, gọi là Manila elemi.
Resinoid là chiết xuất bằng dung môi từ nhựa khô hoặc gôm nhựa. Sau khi loại dung môi, sản phẩm còn lại gồm cả phần bay hơi và phần nhựa không bay hơi. Vì vậy resinoid đặc, sẫm màu, bay hơi chậm và hoạt động như chất định hương.
Vì nhựa elemi mềm và giàu terpen, resinoid của nó nhẹ hơn nhiều resinoid khác. Nó giữ được nốt chanh tươi, đồng thời làm chậm sự bay hơi của cam chanh trong công thức.
Trong perfumery, elemi resinoid dùng cho cologne, fougère, hương trầm và nốt gỗ sáng. Nó cũng là thành phần trong vecni và mực in trước đây, nhờ đặc tính nhựa mềm.
Elemol, một sesquiterpen alcohol, đóng góp phần đáy gỗ nhẹ. Tỉ lệ limonene và α-phellandrene thay đổi theo lô, nên cần xem phiếu phân tích của nhà cung cấp.
Resinoid elemi thường có màu vàng nhạt, dạng sệt, dễ rót hơn nhiều resinoid khác. Trong công thức, nó giúp nối nốt đầu cam chanh với nốt giữa gia vị hoặc hoa, và cho cảm giác sáng mà vẫn bền. Nó cũng hợp với nhũ hương, hương thảo và oải hương trong hương trầm nhẹ. Nguyên liệu để lâu có thể đặc lại và nốt chanh giảm, nên cần kiểm tra mùi trước khi dùng.
Canarium luzonicum is a large tree native to the Philippines. Harvesters cut the trunk; a soft ivory oleoresin flows and slowly thickens. The Philippines is practically the only source of commercial elemi, known as Manila elemi.
A resinoid is a solvent extract of a dried resin or gum resin. After solvent removal it keeps both the volatile fraction and the non-volatile resin. It is therefore thick, dark, slow to evaporate and works as a fixative.
Because elemi is soft and terpene-rich, its resinoid is lighter than most. It keeps a fresh lemony top while slowing the evaporation of citrus in a formula.
In perfumery elemi resinoid is used in colognes, fougères, incense accords and bright woods. The soft resin was formerly also used in varnishes and printing inks.
Elemol, a sesquiterpene alcohol, adds a light woody base. Limonene and α-phellandrene ratios vary by lot, so the supplier's certificate of analysis matters.
Elemi resinoid is usually pale yellow and viscous, easier to pour than most resinoids. In a formula it links a citrus top to a spicy or floral heart and adds brightness that lasts. It also suits olibanum, rosemary and lavender in light incense accords. Aged material can thicken and lose its lemon note, so it should be smelled before use.
