Trên da. Methyl heptenone chưa pha loãng gây kích ứng da thỏ. Thử nghiệm ở 3 phần trăm trên 25 người tình nguyện không gây kích ứng và không gây mẫn cảm. Trong thử nghiệm Draize cải tiến trên chuột lang, hợp chất không gây mẫn cảm ở 20 phần trăm.
Độc tính cấp. LD50 cấp tính trên chuột qua đường uống 3.5 đến 4.1 g/kg. LD50 cấp tính qua da vượt 5 g/kg.
Methyl heptenone is an aliphatic ketone present at low levels in many Citrus and lemongrass oils.
Skin. Undiluted methyl heptenone was irritating to rabbit skin. A 3 percent test on 25 volunteers caused no irritation and no sensitization. In a modified Draize procedure on guinea pigs, the compound was non-sensitizing at 20 percent.
Acute toxicity. Acute oral LD50 in rats 3.5 to 4.1 g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 exceeded 5 g/kg.
