Leptospermum scoparium là cây bụi đặc hữu New Zealand. Tên Maori 'manuka'.
Manuka và kanuka (đã làm ở letter K) là hai loài khác nhau, mọc cùng vùng, mùi tương tự nhưng chemistry khác hẳn. Manuka có β-triketones đặc trưng (leptospermone, flavesone, isoleptospermone), kanuka không có.
Manuka honey nổi tiếng cũng từ cây này, ong lấy mật từ hoa.
Họ Myrtaceae, cùng họ với eucalyptus và tea tree thật (Melaleuca alternifolia).
Leptospermum scoparium is a shrub endemic to New Zealand. Maori name 'manuka'.

Famous manuka honey also comes from this plant, bees collect nectar from the flowers.
