Cyperus rotundus là cây cỏ dại nhiệt đới, được xem là một trong những loài xâm lấn khó kiểm soát nhất thế giới. Mọc khắp Việt Nam.
Tại Việt Nam được gọi là 'cỏ gấu' hoặc 'củ gấu', rễ ngầm được dùng làm thuốc trong y học cổ truyền cho phụ khoa và tiêu hóa.
