Safranal là cấu tử mùi chính của nhuỵ nghệ tây (Crocus sativus). Chất hình thành khi picrocrocin trong nhuỵ bị phân huỷ trong quá trình sấy và bảo quản.

Safranal is the main odorant of saffron (Crocus sativus). It forms when picrocrocin in the stigmas breaks down during drying and storage.

Safranal dùng trong accord nghệ tây và da thuộc, thường với oud và hoa hồng trong các hương phương Đông hiện đại, trong giới hạn IFRA.

Safranal is used in saffron and leather accords, often with oud and rose in modern oriental compositions, within IFRA limits.
