Hoạt tính chống ung thư. Methyl allyl trisulfide cảm ứng glutathione S-transferase ở dạ dày trước, ruột non, gan và phổi chuột nhắt. Hai liều 15.0 µmol (2.3 mg) ức chế u dạ dày do benzo[a]pyrene nhưng không ức chế u phổi.
Methyl allyl trisulfide is a characteristic trisulfide of garlic oil. No published data on skin reactions or toxicity.
Cardiovascular. The compound inhibits platelet aggregation in vitro.
Anticancer activity. Methyl allyl trisulfide induced glutathione S-transferase in mouse forestomach, small intestine, liver and lung. Two doses of 15.0 µmol (2.3 mg) inhibited benzo[a]pyrene-induced forestomach tumors but not lung tumors.

Methyl allyl trisulfide phong phú hơn ở tinh dầu tỏi đã trưởng thành, do quá trình chuyển hoá từ các disulfide tiền chất. Tinh dầu tỏi đường uống cần thận trọng khi dùng cùng thuốc chống đông.
Methyl allyl trisulfide is more abundant in mature garlic oil through conversion from precursor disulfides. Oral garlic oil warrants caution alongside anticoagulant therapy.
