Guaiazulene là một sesquiterpene xanh-tím đặc trưng, xuất hiện trong tinh dầu boldo và cypress xanh.
Trên niêm mạc. Năm bệnh nhân bị viêm môi sau khi dùng cùng một loại kem đánh răng có phản ứng yếu với guaiazulene khi patch test.
Chống oxi hoá. Ức chế peroxidation lipid trong gan chuột, quét sạch hiệu quả các gốc hydroxyl và DPPH.
Đột biến gen. Không gây đột biến trong các chủng Salmonella TA98 và TA100, có hay không có S9.
Không có dữ liệu da hay độc tính cấp được tìm thấy.
Guaiazulene is a distinctive blue-purple sesquiterpene occurring in boldo and blue cypress oils.
Mucous membranes. Five patients with inflamed lips after using the same toothpaste showed weak reactions to guaiazulene on patch testing.
Antioxidant. It inhibits lipid peroxidation in rat liver and effectively scavenges hydroxyl radicals and DPPH.
Mutagenicity. Not mutagenic in Salmonella strains TA98 and TA100, with or without S9.
No dermal or acute toxicity data were found.
