Sandela thuộc thế hệ đàn hương tổng hợp đầu tiên, là các terpenyl cyclohexanol mang nhóm isocamphyl có nguồn gốc từ camphene. Sản phẩm là hỗn hợp đồng phân, trong đó chỉ một số đồng phân có mùi đàn hương rõ.

Sandela belongs to the first generation of synthetic sandalwoods, terpenyl cyclohexanols carrying a camphene-derived isocamphyl group. The product is an isomer mixture in which only some isomers carry a clear sandalwood odor.
