Dehydrocostus lactone thuộc nhóm sesquiterpene lactone từ họ Cúc, vốn nổi tiếng là chất gây mẫn cảm da mạnh.
Trên da. Là chất gây mẫn cảm da. Patch test ở nồng độ 0.033 phần trăm cho phản ứng dương tính ở 4 trên 10 bệnh nhân. Khảo sát trên 250 người làm vườn cho thấy 25 người dị ứng với họ Cúc, trong đó 24 trường hợp có thể do tiếp xúc nghề nghiệp.
Mạch máu và sinh sản. Hợp chất ức chế tạo mạch máu mới theo liều trong các xét nghiệm in vitro và trên chuột. Tính chống tạo mạch này khuyến cáo thận trọng trong thai kỳ.
Ung thư. Dehydrocostus lactone gây độc tế bào theo liều và thời gian đối với nhiều dòng tế bào ung thư người.
Dehydrocostus lactone belongs to the sesquiterpene lactones from the Compositae family, a chemical group notorious for skin sensitization.
Skin. A confirmed dermal sensitizer. Patch testing at 0.033 percent produced positive reactions in 4 of 10 patients. In 250 gardeners surveyed, 25 showed Compositae allergy, with 24 cases likely occupationally sensitized.
Vascular and reproductive. The compound dose-dependently inhibited angiogenesis in vitro and in mice. This antiangiogenic action suggests caution in pregnancy.
Cancer. Dehydrocostus lactone was dose- and time-dependently cytotoxic against several human cancer cell lines.
