Creosol là một cấu tử của hắc ín gỗ và creosote, hình thành khi nhiệt phân lignin. Tên gọi liên hệ với creosote, hỗn hợp chưng cất từ hắc ín gỗ.

Creosol is a constituent of wood tar and creosote, formed when lignin is pyrolysed. The name relates to creosote, the distillate of wood tar.

Creosol dùng ở liều thấp để tạo sắc khói, da thuộc và gỗ cháy, trong giới hạn IFRA.

Creosol is used at low levels for smoke, leather and burnt wood tones, within IFRA limits.
