Acetyl cedrene được tạo bằng cách acetyl hoá phần cedrene của dầu tuyết tùng Virginia. Vertofix là tên thương mại của IFF. Sản phẩm là hỗn hợp nên thành phần phụ thuộc vào nguồn dầu tuyết tùng.

Acetyl cedrene is made by acetylating the cedrene fraction of Virginia cedarwood oil. Vertofix is IFF's trade name. The product is a mixture whose composition depends on the cedarwood oil source.

Acetyl cedrene là nguyên liệu gỗ chủ lực trong nước hoa nam, fougère và chypre, cũng như trong xà phòng. Chất này đóng vai trò chất cố định gỗ khô.

Acetyl cedrene is a workhorse woody material in masculine, fougère and chypre fragrances as well as soap. It acts as a dry woody fixative.
