Vetiveryl acetate được tạo bằng cách acetyl hoá tinh dầu vetiver hoặc phần alcohol của nó. Vì nguyên liệu đầu là tinh dầu, sản phẩm là hỗn hợp nhiều acetate sesquiterpene chứ không phải một phân tử đơn.

Vetiveryl acetate is made by acetylating vetiver oil or its alcohol fraction. Because the starting material is an essential oil, the product is a mixture of many sesquiterpenyl acetates rather than a single molecule.

Vetiveryl acetate cho vetiver sạch, sáng hơn tinh dầu, dùng nhiều trong nước hoa nam, chypre và hương gỗ.

Vetiveryl acetate gives a cleaner, brighter vetiver than the oil and is widely used in masculine, chypre and woody fragrances.
