Versalide (AETT) từng được dùng rộng rãi trong nước hoa và mỹ phẩm. Năm 1979, Spencer và cộng sự công bố trên tạp chí Science rằng AETT gây tổn thương thần kinh và làm đổi màu nội tạng ở chuột. Nhà sản xuất đã ngừng cung cấp chất này từ cuối thập niên 1970.

IFRA ban hành tiêu chuẩn Cấm cho AETT; trong danh mục Sửa đổi 51, năm công bố của tiêu chuẩn là 2006.

Versalide (AETT) was once widely used in perfume and cosmetics. In 1979 Spencer and colleagues reported in Science that AETT caused nerve damage and organ discoloration in rats. The supplier stopped selling it in the late 1970s.

IFRA issued a Prohibition Standard for AETT; the 51st Amendment index gives 2006 as its publication year.

Versalide không còn được dùng trong hương liệu. Chất này được nhắc tới như một ví dụ lịch sử về việc rút một phân tử khỏi thị trường sau khi có dữ liệu độc tính.

Versalide is no longer used in fragrance. It is cited as a historical case of a molecule withdrawn after toxicity data emerged.
