Osyrol là ether alcohol mạch hở, không có vòng, nhưng vẫn cho sắc đàn hương nhẹ. Đây là ví dụ cho thấy mùi gỗ không nhất thiết đến từ khung terpene.

Osyrol is an acyclic ether alcohol with no ring, yet it gives a light sandalwood character. It shows that woody odor does not require a terpene skeleton.

Osyrol dùng để làm mềm và bổ trợ accord đàn hương, thường với các đàn hương mạnh hơn.

Osyrol is used to soften and support sandalwood accords, usually alongside stronger sandalwoods.
