Neryl isobutyrate is an aliphatic monoterpenoid ester occurring at low levels in wormwood chemotypes.
Skin. Undiluted neryl isobutyrate produced slight irritation on rabbit skin under 24-hour occlusion. Tested at 5 percent on human skin, it caused no irritation and no sensitization.
Acute toxicity. Acute oral LD50 in rats exceeded 5 g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 in rabbits exceeded 5 g/kg.
