Isolongifolanone được tạo từ longifolene, một sesquiterpene có nhiều trong nhựa thông Ấn Độ (Pinus roxburghii), qua đồng phân hoá và oxy hoá.

Isolongifolanone is made from longifolene, a sesquiterpene abundant in Indian turpentine (Pinus roxburghii), by isomerisation and oxidation.

Chất này dùng làm nền gỗ khô giá thấp trong nước hoa và sản phẩm gia dụng.

It is used as an inexpensive dry woody base in fragrance and household products.
