Isobornyl acetate là cấu tử chủ đạo trong tinh dầu spruce hemlock. Đồng phân với bornyl acetate.

Trên da. Bôi nguyên chất trên da thỏ gây kích ứng nhẹ. Patch test ở 10 phần trăm trên 25 tình nguyện viên không gây mẫn cảm. Ở 5 phần trăm trên 100 bệnh nhân viêm da liên tiếp không gây kích ứng hay phản ứng dị ứng.

Đường uống và da. LD50 cấp tính qua đường uống trên chuột vượt 10 g/kg. LD50 trên thỏ qua da vượt 20 g/kg, mức rất cao.

Mạn tính. Cho chuột uống 90 ngày ở 15, 90 hoặc 270 mg/kg cho thấy dấu hiệu độc thận ở hai liều cao. NOAEL là 15 mg/kg/ngày.

Isobornyl acetate is the dominant constituent in hemlock spruce oil. Isomeric with bornyl acetate.

Skin. Applied undiluted to rabbit skin, it was mildly irritating. A 10 percent patch test on 25 volunteers produced no sensitization. At 5 percent on 100 consecutive dermatitis patients, no irritation or allergic reactions occurred.

Oral and dermal. Acute oral LD50 in rats exceeds 10 g/kg. Acute dermal LD50 in rabbits exceeds 20 g/kg, a very high level.

Subchronic. A 90-day rat gavage study at 15, 90 or 270 mg/kg showed signs of nephrotoxicity at the two higher doses. The NOAEL was 15 mg/kg/day.
