Dodecyl acetate là một ester mạch dài, xuất hiện ở vài tinh dầu hoa.
Trên da. Bôi nguyên chất trên da thỏ gây kích ứng nhẹ. Patch test ở 20 phần trăm trên 25 tình nguyện viên không gây kích ứng cũng không gây mẫn cảm.
Đường uống và da. LD50 cấp tính trên chuột và LD50 trên thỏ qua da đều vượt 5 g/kg.
Mạn tính. Bôi lặp lại liều cao nguyên chất sau khởi tạo DMBA gây u da ở 3 trên 15 chuột. Không có khối u ở dung dịch 33 phần trăm hoặc ở chuột không khởi tạo.
Dodecyl acetate is a long-chain ester found in a few floral essential oils.
Skin. Applied undiluted to rabbit skin, it was slightly irritating. A 20 percent patch test on 25 volunteers produced neither irritation nor sensitization.
Oral and dermal. Acute oral LD50 in rats and acute dermal LD50 in rabbits both exceed 5 g/kg.
Subchronic. Repeated application of high doses of undiluted material following DMBA initiation produced skin tumors in 3 of 15 mice. No tumors developed in a 33 percent solution group or in non-initiated mice.
