Cedryl acetate được tạo bằng cách acetyl hoá cedrol, alcohol chính của dầu tuyết tùng. So với cedrol, ester cho mùi mềm và tròn hơn.

Cedryl acetate is made by acetylating cedrol, the main alcohol of cedarwood oil. Compared with cedrol, the ester smells softer and rounder.

Cedryl acetate dùng làm nền gỗ và chất cố định trong xà phòng, nước hoa và sản phẩm gia dụng.

Cedryl acetate is used as a woody base and fixative in soap, fragrance and household products.
