Oils high in 1,8-cineole can cause CNS and breathing problems in young children.
Contraindication: do not apply to or near the face of infants and children under 10 years.
Shares safety profile with E. globulus, maximum adult oral dose 600 mg daily, dermal 20 percent.
Eucalyptus radiata is often recommended in aromatherapy as a gentler alternative to globulus, especially for older children (over 10) and the elderly, due to slightly lower cineole and a softening piperitol component.

Eucalyptus radiata is a tree of southeastern Australia. The characteristic narrow leaves give 'narrow-leaved peppermint' its name.
The oil is steam-distilled from the leaves. Produced in Australia.
