Safety

Choleretic

May be choleretic (stimulates bile secretion).

Oral: avoid in cholestasis.

Eucalyptus macarthurii differs markedly from cineole-rich eucalyptus oils, chemistry characterized by geranyl acetate (up to 70 percent in some chemotypes).

Likely not hazardous in pregnancy based on data for the major constituents.

The oil is usually rectified to remove unwanted aldehydes.
