Bursera delpechiana is a small tropical tree from Mexico. The wood is characteristically high in linalool.

The essential oil is distilled from wood chips. Small-scale production, mainly in Mexico.

Also distilled from seeds and fruits, linaloe seed/fruit oil has similar chemistry with different proportions.

Family Burseraceae, same family as frankincense and myrrh.

Linaloe wood was historically a primary source of natural linalool. As supply diminished, ho wood (Cinnamomum camphora linalool CT) became the substitute.

In perfumery and soap, linaloe wood gives a floral, sweet, soft aroma.
