Narcissus jonquilla is a small daffodil-type flower with bright yellow flowers and an intensely sweet scent. The name 'jonquil' comes from the Latin 'juncus' (rush) for the long narrow leaves resembling rushes.
The absolute is solvent-extracted from the flowers. Mainly produced in France.
Family Amaryllidaceae. Very limited availability, high-end perfumery.
