Narcissus poeticus is a daffodil with white petals and an orange-yellow center, growing wild in the Alps and Pyrenees. Flowers bloom in May-June.
The absolute is solvent-extracted from fresh flowers. Yield is very low, about 1,500 kg of fresh flowers are needed for 1 kg of absolute.

Family Amaryllidaceae.
One of the most expensive absolutes in classical French perfumery.
Strong floral-honeyed-grassy aroma with a touch of indole (characteristic of 'animalic' perfumery).
