There are doubts about whether any genuine hyacinth absolute is produced, most commercial 'hyacinth absolute' is a reconstruction.

Hyacinthus orientalis is a Dutch/Middle Eastern bulb flower, with densely packed bell-shaped florets on a stalk and a deep heavy aroma.
The absolute is solvent-extracted from the flowers, in theory. In practice most commercial 'hyacinth absolute' is a synthetic reconstruction due to the true material's prohibitive cost and minimal supply.
