Put on a video of crashing waves, close your eyes, and add scent to complete it. Lavender and bergamot split five drops each, purple flowers blending with slightly tea-like peel; eucalyptus, rosemary and spearmint blow in cool air, green leaf and sweet coolness like a sea breeze. Good for the bedroom on summer nights. Switch on the diffuser the moment you hit play.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
