Polite smiling all day, and by the time you get home your face muscles ache. Five drops of lavender make a soft base, Roman chamomile brings sweet apple, bergamot adds slightly tea-like peel, and rosemary dots in cool green leaf. An honest scent, nothing showy. Good for the bedroom at night, when you get to be yourself. For something softer, skip the rosemary and add one drop of Roman chamomile.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
