Too tired? Then stop; tomorrow is another day. Three drops of bergamot open with slightly tea-like peel, sweet orange and neroli add fresh orange and clean white flowers, lavender softens it, and a single drop of lemongrass sprinkles in zesty grassy lemon. Good for the living room in the evening. Close the laptop, turn on the diffuser, and give yourself permission to stop right here for today.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round); lemongrass (fresh, green and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); neroli (white-floral, honeyed and clear) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Lemongrass can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
