When the day is gray, paint it pink yourself. Rose and clary sage at ten drops each, one velvet petals, the other herbs soft as dried tea leaves; sandalwood, bergamot, ylang-ylang and geranium add creamy wood, tangy citrus, yellow flowers and green rose leaves. It's a big batch, 5 drops per use. Good for the living room on long, rainy afternoons.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Rose (deep, silky and luxurious); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Sandalwood (creamy, smooth and long-lasting) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
