Just landed, body stuck in another time zone, head in a fog. Four drops of bergamot open with bright, tea-tinged peel, frankincense lays down deep resin, lavender softens things, and peppermint blows in a cool breeze to help you feel more awake. Right for the bedroom on your first day home. In the morning, use the full peppermint; at night, skip it and add a drop of lavender.

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.
What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.
Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
