catching up on sleep

5 oils · Floral · code BL-0073

A clearly floral blend: geranium leads with a fresh green-rose scent, ylang-ylang and neroli follow with a sweet layer of yellow and white flowers, while lavender and Roman chamomile form a gentle base. The scent is full-bodied and a little dressy, perfect for a large bedroom or after a shower. For a small room, use about a third of the recipe, cutting the ylang-ylang first.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Geranium (green and rosy, fresh and balanced); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); neroli (white-floral, honeyed and clear); lavender (floral-herbal, clean and soothing); Roman chamomile (like ripe apple and dry hay, soft and mellow) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

FAQ

How do I use catching up on sleep in a diffuser?
Add Geranium 4 · Ylang Ylang 2 · Neroli 1 · Lavender 1 · Roman Chamomile 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of geranium?
Swap geranium for rose or jasmine — same floral family. The blend will shift a little: rose is deep, silky and luxurious.
When is the best time to use catching up on sleep?
Run the diffuser for 20–30 minutes before bed with the door closed, then switch it off or set a timer when you get into bed.
