Blend recipes · Easy breathing

top of the mountain pass

3 oils · Herbal · Minty · Woody · code BL-2230

Standing at the top of a mountain pass, the wind blowing cool, the sky wide open. Eucalyptus brings a clear, cool rush like mountain wind, spearmint adds a sweet chill, and cypress leaves a green-wood note like the forest along the road. On days you miss road trips, turn on the diffuser by your office window and look off into the distance for a bit to rest your eyes.

How it unfolds

On opening. Eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open); spearmint (sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Eucalyptus 4 · Spearmint 2 · Cypress 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

Eucalyptus 2 · Spearmint 1 · Cypress 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Eucalyptus 15 · Spearmint 8 · Cypress 8 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use top of the mountain pass in a diffuser?
Add Eucalyptus 4 · Spearmint 2 · Cypress 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of eucalyptus?
Swap eucalyptus for rosemary or tea tree — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: rosemary is cool, green, herbal and invigorating.
When is the best time to use top of the mountain pass?
Use it in closed rooms, on humid days, in monsoon season or after long hours of air conditioning — diffuse in short 20–30 minute runs.
