Blend recipes · Easy breathing

caught in the downpour

5 oils · Citrus · Herbal · Minty · Woody · code BL-2068

Jacket still wet, hair still dripping, and the house needs a scent that feels truly dry. Rosemary leads with a crisp herbal edge, eucalyptus and peppermint open up room to breathe, then cypress pulls everything into green wood, brightened at the edges by a little lemon. Start the diffuser as soon as you walk in, while you take a warm shower. In rooms under 15m², use 1 fewer drop of peppermint for a smoother scent.

How it unfolds

On opening. Rosemary (cool, green, herbal and invigorating); eucalyptus (strong, cool and wide open); peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); lemon (fresh, bright and clean) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Lemon can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use caught in the downpour in a diffuser?
Add Rosemary 2 · Eucalyptus 2 · Peppermint 2 · Cypress 1 · Lemon 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of rosemary?
Swap rosemary for tea tree or clary sage — same herbal family. The blend will shift a little: tea tree is green, medicinal and clean.
When is the best time to use caught in the downpour?
Use it in closed rooms, on humid days, in monsoon season or after long hours of air conditioning — diffuse in short 20–30 minute runs.
