thesis, chapter 3

4 oils · Herbal · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-1093

Thesis, chapter three, the hardest part of all. Four drops of frankincense lay a steady, warm resin base, while cedarwood, patchouli, and clary sage, two drops each, add dry wood, damp earth, and sweet herbs. Great for a writing desk at night, during long hours glued to your research. If you need to feel more alert, swap the clary sage for rosemary.

How it unfolds

As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Frankincense 4 · Cedarwood 2 · Patchouli 2 · Clary Sage 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Frankincense 2 · Cedarwood 1 · Patchouli 1 · Clary Sage 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Frankincense 12 · Cedarwood 6 · Patchouli 6 · Clary Sage 6 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

FAQ

How do I use thesis, chapter 3 in a diffuser?
Add Frankincense 4 · Cedarwood 2 · Patchouli 2 · Clary Sage 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of frankincense?
Swap frankincense for vanilla or myrrh — same resinous & sweet family. The blend will shift a little: vanilla is creamy, sweet and cozy.
When is the best time to use thesis, chapter 3?
Run it at your desk or study corner in cycles of 30 minutes on, 30 minutes off, so your nose does not tune the scent out.
