temple visit, first of the month

3 oils · Woody · Resinous & sweet · code BL-1008

Visiting the temple at the start of the lunar month, lighting a stick of incense, and your heart feels much lighter. Three drops of frankincense lead with a solemn resin note, cedarwood adds dry wood, and two drops of patchouli keep a deep, damp-earth base. Great for the living room or a family altar room on the first of the month. Tip: start the diffuser after wiping down the altar for a clean, warm scent.

How it unfolds

What remains. Frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still); cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings); patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.

Method

Diffuser
Frankincense 3 · Cedarwood 2 · Patchouli 2 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.
10 ml roller
Frankincense 2 · Cedarwood 1 · Patchouli 1 drops, then top up with a carrier oil (jojoba or sweet almond). Dab on wrists and the back of the neck.
50 ml room spray
Frankincense 13 · Cedarwood 9 · Patchouli 9 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.
