Blend recipes · Summer fresh

summer at grandma's

4 oils · Citrus · Herbal · Woody · code BL-2984

Cedarwood builds a dry wood base like an old family house in the countryside, bergamot adds a little brightness, clary sage brings a warm, slightly sweet herbal note, and juniper blows in a breeze from the green fields. The scent suits the living room on summer afternoons or a bedroom with wooden doors. For a lighter feel on hot days, add one drop of bergamot and cut back on cedarwood.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); juniper (green and berry-like, with clean resinous wood) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

FAQ

How do I use summer at grandma's in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Bergamot 2 · Clary Sage 2 · Juniper 1 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for sandalwood or patchouli — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: sandalwood is creamy, smooth and long-lasting.
When is the best time to use summer at grandma's?
Use it at midday, in hot rooms, or after coming in from outside; you can also mix a room spray for a quick cool-down.
