steady while everything shifts

4 oils · Citrus · Floral · Herbal · Woody · code BL-0980

A mind that stays steady while the world keeps changing sounds grand, but it starts with a few minutes of breathing. Cedarwood and bergamot, three drops each, lay a base of dry wood and fresh citrus, while clary sage and ylang ylang add sweet herbs and rich florals. Great for the morning before work or a meditation corner. If sweet florals aren't your thing, reduce ylang ylang to one drop.

How it unfolds

On opening. Bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.

What remains. Cedarwood (dry and warm, like a wooden chest and pencil shavings) sinks in and lingers after the diffuser is off.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use steady while everything shifts in a diffuser?
Add Cedarwood 3 · Bergamot 3 · Clary Sage 2 · Ylang Ylang 2 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of cedarwood?
Swap cedarwood for sandalwood or patchouli — same woody family. The blend will shift a little: sandalwood is creamy, smooth and long-lasting.
When is the best time to use steady while everything shifts?
Use it while meditating, doing yoga, journaling, or simply sitting still for 10 minutes without your phone.
