Waiting for your name to be called, heart beating faster than usual. Four drops of ylang-ylang open with sweet yellow flowers, patchouli adds damp earth, clary sage and frankincense line it with sweet herb and warm resin; thyme and sweet orange add one drop each, sprinkling in dry-leaf spice and fresh orange. Good for your room before an exam or online interview. Run it for 15 minutes, breathe slowly, then begin.

On opening. Sweet orange (ripe, sweet, cheerful and round) rises first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.
As it settles. Ylang ylang (rich, creamy, tropical and sweetly floral); clary sage (sweet, herbal, slightly musky and unhurried); thyme (warm, dry and herbal with a touch of spice) form the body of the scent and stay longest in the room.
What remains. Patchouli (like damp earth and dark wood, deeply sweet); frankincense (resinous with a light lemony note, deep and still) sink in and linger after the diffuser is off.
Thyme can irritate skin — dilute well and patch-test on a small area first.
Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.
