Blend recipes · Cozy & warm

monsoon night chill

3 oils · Citrus · Minty · Woody · code BL-2667

Three equal parts: peppermint cool like the monsoon wind slipping through the door, elegant bergamot and green, needle-woody cypress. A wide-awake scent, pretty unusual for the cold-season lineup, great for people who prefer crisp air over sweet warmth. Good for the home office or living room on monsoon nights. For more warmth, cut peppermint to 2 drops and add more cypress.

How it unfolds

On opening. Peppermint (cool, sharp and clean); bergamot (light citrus with a floral edge, Earl Grey style) rise first, clearest in the first 10–15 minutes.

As it settles. Cypress (fresh, dry and clean like conifer wood) forms the body of the scent and stays longest in the room.

What remains. With no woody or resin base note, this blend fades fairly quickly — switch it on again after 1–2 hours to keep the room scented.

Method

Diffuser
Peppermint 3 · Bergamot 3 · Cypress 3 drops in 200–300 ml of water. Run for 30–60 minutes, then take a break.

Peppermint 10 · Bergamot 10 · Cypress 10 drops + 1 teaspoon of food-grade alcohol, then top up with distilled water. Shake before spraying.

Safety

Photosensitizing

Bergamot can make skin sensitive to sunlight when applied topically — avoid sun and tanning beds for 12 hours after applying.

Do not use for children under 6, during pregnancy, or if you have a health condition without asking a professional first. Never ingest essential oils; keep them out of reach of children and pets.

FAQ

How do I use monsoon night chill in a diffuser?
Add Peppermint 3 · Bergamot 3 · Cypress 3 drops to 200–300 ml of water. In a room under 15 m², use 1–2 drops less; in a room over 25 m², add 1 more drop of the main oil.
What can I use instead of peppermint?
Swap peppermint for spearmint — same minty family. The blend will shift a little: spearmint is sweet and cool, softer than peppermint, with a hint of chewing gum.
When is the best time to use monsoon night chill?
Made for chilly days, cold rain, Tet (the Lunar New Year) and Christmas; use it in the living room or bedroom.
